Anchorage GRIT

Bike Anchorage's Education Program is excited to support the Anchorage GRIT (Girls Riding Into Tomorrow) project! With support from community members like you, this innovative program will transform the lives of women throughout Anchorage.

During the after-school program, Anchorage GRIT mentors connect, educate, and ride with 18 middle-school aged girls. The girls' experience culminates in an amazing self-supported overnight adventure. We are writing a curriculum and recording our experience with lesson plans, volunteering opportunities, and rides. Our intention is to openly share this information so that women in other cities can translate GRIT to their own communities. We would love to see GRIT grow– both in Anchorage and around the country.

We are seeking additional financial support for Anchorage GRIT this season to cover expenses including cabin rental, racks, locks, water bottle cages, food and mentor stipends. Making a donation through this page will go directly to supporting Anchorage GRIT. Thank you!
